Valley Curbside Recycling
About Us:
My name is Ryan Gibbs, and I am proud to call Roanoke, Virginia, my hometown. I graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Biological Sciences, and recycling has always been something I have been passionate about.
My goal is to make a difference in the Roanoke Valley by providing an easier, more convenient way to recycle.
With the introduction of single-stream recycling in Roanoke City in late 2015, there has been an 88% increase in the amount of waste being recycled. Valley Curbside Recycling saw the need for curbside collection in Roanoke County and Salem, and in 2017 began curbside collection for a handful of loyal customers in the Valley. By 2020, Roanoke's single-stream system continued to deliver sustainable alternatives to the landfill. As we approach the end of 2024, Valley Curbside Recycling averages 800 lbs. of recyclable material each week! That equals almost 42,000 lbs. of material just this year that otherwise would have gone to the landfill. Valley Curbside is committed to making recycling accessible to those households and small businesses that otherwise have no solutions to their recycling needs.
